Thomas Jackson “Jack” Burfield, 74, passed away July 3, 2022, at a Fort Worth hospital.

Thomas was born April 7, 1948, to L.B. Burfield and Juanita Collins Burfield in Memphis, Tennessee.  He moved to Fort Worth as a young child. Jack was an avid baseball player from a young age into his 40’s. He lettered in football, track, and baseball. Jack also was a member of the boxing league, the Golden Gloves. He graduated in 1966 from NorthSide High School and then went on to play baseball at Cisco college and a year in the minor leagues.

Jack served a tour in the Vietnam War as a Marine. He met and married Linda Black in Fort Worth and spent 50 wonderful years together. Jack worked for over 40 years in outside heavy-duty truck part sales in Houston and Fort Worth.  He was very well respected by all his coworkers and business contacts. Linda and Jack enjoyed traveling and escaping the summer heat and especially enjoyed their trip to Yellowstone and Mt Rushmore. He enjoyed annual dove hunts to South Texas and loved his Great White Hunters group. Jack never met a stranger and never complained.  He loved his four grandsons with all his heart and attended every tennis, baseball, and golf event that he could.  Jack loved his Dallas Cowboys and TCU Horned Frogs.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Kenny Jenkins.

Survivors: He is survived by his loving wife, Linda Burfield; daughter, Kelly Worthington (from a previous marriage); daughter, Buffy Christian (Colin); son, Brady Sweetland; and four grandsons, Jarod, Keaton, Aidan, and Tate.
