Sherroll Shirley

Sherroll Ann Shirley “Sherry”, 70, passed away Sunday, December 19, 2021, in Fort Worth, Texas.

Sherry was born September 21, 1951, in San Diego California, the daughter of James Columbus Lee and Stella Floy Edmondson Lee. Sherry spent most of her childhood in Fort Worth.  As a young girl she developed Juvenile Diabetes, but Sherry did not let that stop her from accomplishing anything she put her mind to. As a child, she was an avid horseback rider and earned trophies for her successes.  After graduating from high school, Sherry studied Medical Technology and became a Medical Laboratory Technician.  On a visit to New Mexico, she met her husband and the love of her life, Jim. The two, along with Sherry’s son, Russell, by a previous marriage, spent several years in England, where Jim was assigned, and later in California and Las Cruces, New Mexico. They returned to Fort Worth in 1984.

Sherry had health problems associated with her diabetes, but she never let that define her as a person, slow her down, or dampen her sense of humor. She was always there for family, friends, and orphaned animals.  She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her.

Sherry is preceded in death by her father, James Lee, and son, Russell Hohenberger.

She is survived by her husband, Jim; mother, Stella Lee; brother, Tommy Lee; and many other loving family members and friends, as well as her beloved cat, Pumpkin.

Funeral Services: 2:00 p.m. Thursday December 30, 2021, at Winscott Road Funeral Home, 1001 Winscott Road, Benbrook, Texas 76126.   Visitation: 1:00-2:00 PM, just prior to the service.
