Sammy "Pop" Hussong

Sammy Edward Hussong “Pop”, 81, passed away at his home March 12, 2022, surrounded by his loving family.

Sam was born in Kaufman, Texas on February 24, 1941. Sam retired after serving 21 years in the U.S. Air Force. He met his wife, Janera “Mimaw” Hussong at a talent show. They were married for 63 years and had three beautiful children. They traveled all around the world while he was in the Air Force. He was a very loving husband, father, son, brother, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

Sam was an extremely kind man and thought of others before himself. He was a strong Christian and would preach the Lord’s word all day. Sam, “Pop”, will TRULY be missed. The world will be a little less of a place without him. LOVE YOU ALWAYS.

Sam was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert and Vanita Hussong; his loving wife, Janera Hussong; his daughter, Tory Reene Hussong; sisters, Ruby, Oleda, and Jenny; and brother, Robert Hussong.

Survivors: Sons, Kenneth Hussong, and Kyle Hussong; daughter, Christina Hussong; five grandchildren, Kenna, Brendon, Jessica, Justin, and Josh; and six great-grandchildren.

Graveside Committal with military honors: 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 5, 2022 at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy., Dallas, Texas 75211.
