Obituary

After a two-month Covid illness, Ralph Cook “Randy” passed away on March 5, 2022, at Baylor Medical Center, Dallas. He was surrounded by his loving family.

Funeral Service: 12:00 Noon, Monday, March 21, 2022, at Winscott Road Funeral Home, 1001 Winscott Road, Benbrook, Texas 76126. Visitation will be an hour prior to his service, 11:00 a.m. to Noon. His burial with military honors will take place later at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas.

Randy was born in Shelby, North Carolina and grew up in Easley, South Carolina. He graduated from Easley High School and received an Associate Degree in Business at Clemson University. Randy joined the Army in 1973, where he received a National Defense Service Medal. He eventually settled in Weatherford, Texas. He was a Supervisor and Manager at Master Finance Corp., and enjoyed traveling to offices in Texas, Oklahoma, and Tennessee.

He survived MDS chemotherapy treatments, a bone-marrow transplant, a broken ankle, and broken back over the past two years, and rarely took a day off work. His favorite part of his job was managing the Weatherford office and getting to know everyone in the community. He was kind, loved to make people laugh, and would give you the shirt off his back. On weekends he loved working in his yard, spending time with his family, and watching sports.  Randy never missed a Dallas Cowboys or Clemson Tigers game. He was a beloved husband of 32 years and a devoted father; he will be missed dearly.

Randy was preceded in death by his parents, James M. Cook, and Margaret Virginia Vickers; and two brothers, Jackie Thomas Cook, and Johnny M. Cook

He was survived by his loving wife, Lisa Posavitz Cook; his daughter, Kathryn Margaret Cook; his son, Alexander Edward Cook; his siblings, Bobby Gibbs (Louise), Eugene Gibbs (Gail), Douglas Cook, MaryLou Ball, Susan Smith, Harriet Owens, and Kathy Black; as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
