James Moreno, 60, passed away on Thursday, September 2, 2021.

Service Information:  Visitation:  10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 8, 2021, at Winscott Road Funeral Home, 1001 Winscott Road, Benbrook, Texas 76126.  Rosary:  6:30 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home.  Funeral Mass:  10:00 a.m., at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, 1201 S. Cherry Lane, White Settlement, Texas 76108.

James, the eldest son of Merced Moreno Jr., and his wife, Janie Moreno, was born November 5, 1960, in Stamford, Texas and moved to Fort Worth in 1969.  He was gifted with musical talent and performed in his first band "Skye" at the age of 14.  Skye was later to become Black Diamond.  He played many instruments, but he was devoted to guitar.  James' love of Rock and Blues was apparent with every performance.  While playing with The Panther City Playboys someone once commented, "If you can't feel it when he plays, you have no feelings".  James, along with his wife of 34 years, Robin, raised three boys, enjoyed three granddaughters, and owned a flower shop in Benbrook, Texas.

James was preceded in death by his father, Merced Moreno, Jr.; his mother-in-law, Jihada Gilcrease; and his nephew, Isaac Sanchez.

James was survived by his mother, Juanita “Janie” Moreno; mother of his children, Robin Moreno; sons, Alexander, Nathaniel, and Phillip; honorary daughters, Sydney, and Madeline; granddaughters, Lilith, Isabella, and Evie; sister, Laura; brothers, Gilbert, and Robert; sister-in-law, Tina; nieces and nephews, Amanda, Rebecca, Andrew, Sarah, Reese, Elena, Aaliyah, Sienna, Brandon, Matthew, Dominic, Benjamin, Lucas, Melissa, and Karissa.
