James Franklin Dixon “Frank”, of Fort Worth, Texas, peacefully passed on to his heavenly home on Tuesday, August 30, 2022.

Funeral Services: 1:00 p.m., Thursday, September 8, 2022 at Winscott Road Funeral Home, 1001 Winscott Road, Benbrook, Texas 76126, with Pastor Dale Shorter officiating.  Visitation:  6-8:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at the funeral home.  Graveside Services with military honors:  1:30 p.m., Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, Texas 75211.

Frank was born on August 23, 1947 in Nashville, Tennessee. He served our country in the Armed Forces August 1, 1967 to August 3, 1969, during the Vietnam War. On December 21, 1978, he married Connie Reeves Dixon. He enjoyed building and racing drag cars in the 1970’s. He went on to own and run two business, Rad N’ Gnarly Skate Shop in Yorba Linda, California and Bag of Burgers in Wichita Falls, Texas. Frank worked for Johnson’s Magnavox in Wichita Falls, Texas and Motion Graphics in Fort Worth, Texas. In 1992, he began working for Borden Dairy in Fort Worth, Texas. He retired from Borden Dairy in 2015. After retirement, he returned to painting, an old hobby of his. He spent his golden years creating many beautiful pieces of art. His art was shown at Art Goggle, Race Street Rollick, and Fort Worth Arts.

Frank enjoyed vacationing with his wife, Connie, in Panama City Beach, Florida. He loved to relax on the beach-front balcony and watch the waves for dolphins. He always loved taking his family out for a day on the water in a pontoon boat. Most of all, Frank loved spending time with his family and friends.

Frank is preceded in death by his mother, Betty Barry; his grandfather and grandmother, Frances and Fannie Kinningham; and his beloved dog, Tater-Tot.

Frank’s memory will be kept alive by his loving wife of 43 years, Connie Dixon of Fort Worth; his children, Shanna Dixon Fletcher of Frisco, Texas, Kristie Duncan of Euless, Texas, Corey Dixon of Denton, Texas, James Cody Dixon of Fort Worth, Texas, and Lilly Dixon of Waco, Texas; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren; along with countless friends that he made along the way.
