Frankie Stidom

February 1, 1941 — July 30, 2021

Weatherford

Frankie Sue Stidom, 80, of Weatherford, Texas, earned her angel wings on Friday, July 30, 2021.  She passed peacefully at her home while sleeping.

Frankie was born February 1, 1941, in London, Kentucky to George and Alma Johnson.  She grew up on the family farm outside London, Kentucky with her four brothers.  During her life adventures, she lived in Kentucky, Ohio, Mississippi, and Texas.  Frankie was a very strong, hardworking, and determined woman.  Some people even referred to her as being extremely stubborn. Frankie became a widow at a young age and worked many jobs so she could provide for her four sons.  She took pride in being independent and loved being a role-model for her sons, family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Mamaw/Frankie loved Christmas and could not wait to see everyone’s face when they opened their always perfectly wrapped packages.  She always started buying gifts right after Christmas for the next year.  Frankie loved music, cherished the time she played guitar and sang, enjoyed playing penny slots, watched horseracing, had a passion for making quilts, adored her family, and had a fondness for old movies.  She never missed a day talking to her dog, Duke, her cockatiel, Bird, and her two goats, Brandy & Julie.  Frankie was so proud of her boys and loved hearing stories about the great-grandchildren.  She was a dedicated fan of the Dallas Mavericks and University of Kentucky Wildcats basketball team.  She rarely missed a game!

Frankie is preceded in death by her husband, Edward; son, Julian; parents, George and Alma Johnson; and four brothers, Carter, Kenneth, James and Ted.

Survivors:  Son, Dolan Stidom (Suzanne); son, Ellory Stidom; son, Shane Stidom; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a host of loving relatives and wonderful friends.  She will be greatly missed by all!

Frankie will be buried in Rough Creek Cemetery in London, Kentucky next to her beloved Ed and with many other family members nearby.  She is now watching over all of us and having a wonderful family reunion in Heaven.
