Floyd Lee Evans, 71, transitioned to his heavenly home on August 15, 2021.

Floyd was born on November 28, 1949, in Zwolle, Louisiana, to the proud parents, Clenzie Evans and Hazel M. Evans-Calhoun.  He received his education in Pelican, Louisiana, and graduated from All Saints High School.

Floyd began his military career in the United States Army at an early age serving from November 7, 1968, to June 27, 1970, and from January 23, 1957, to February 24, 1979. He served in Vietnam and Alaska. After his military service, he worked in the multifaceted/service industry.

Floyd married Lucille Hart on May 4, 1991, and they remained inseparable until his death. Floyd loved his dogs and spending time with his family. He enjoyed telling stories of the “old days.”

Floyd is preceded in death by his parents: Clenzie Evans and Hazel M. Evans-Calhoun; brother: Archie Ray Evans; sisters: Alice F. Crump and Lula B. Metoyer.

Left to cherish his memories and celebrate his life are his wife, Lucille Evans; children: Julia Jones of Houston, Texas, Treasure Evans of Fort Worth, Texas, Jamal Harrison of Fairbanks, Alaska; stepchildren: Fannie Gordon of Fort Worth, Texas, Trina Hart (Rick) of Fort Worth, Texas; brothers: Bobby Ray Calhoun of Natchitoches, Louisiana, Al Davis of Fort Worth, Texas; sisters: Geraldine Conoway (Tommy) of Farmington Hills, Michigan, Eula M. Rice (Russell) of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, Earnestine Hunt (Barry) of Fort Worth, Texas, Lora Dell Sarpy (Stanley) of Natchitoches, Louisiana, Earline Sam of Houston, Texas, Patricia Jackson (Johnny) of Houston, Texas; special & beloved aunt: Mildred Spencer of Fort Worth, Texas; grandchildren: DeRick Ayers; DeAndre Lewis; Cleveland Hart (Kimora); Bernard Hart; Dwight Ayers; Armenia Ayers, Armenio Ayers; Cuanita Ayers, and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Private interment will be Wednesday, August 25, 2021, at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.
