Eva Privitt

Benbrook

Eva Kaye Privitt was born June 26, 1950, in Crowell, Texas to Charles and Tennie Welch.  She had one sister, Lena Sue Gott, and three brothers, Keith Welch, Winfred Yarbrough, and James Yarbrough.  Kaye attended Hodges Elementary, Atkins Junior High, and Monterey High School.  After graduating she worked as a secretary for an insurance company.  On May 16, 1970, she married the love of her life, Mike Privitt and they went on to have three energetic sons, Michael Eric, Clayton, and Daniel, that she loved dearly.

Kaye attended college at Howard Payne University and William Jewell College in Kansas City, Missouri.  After moving back to Texas, she was a pastor’s wife from 1989 – 2021.  During this time, she taught Sunday School, Vacation Bible School and was involved with evangelism.  Kaye had accepted the Lord at an early age and was faithful all her years.  Her favorite bible verse was Jeremiah 33:3, “Call to me and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.”

Kaye later became a grandmother and Nana to Michael Scott, Stephen, and Ross, whom she treasured dearly.  She worked for the State of Texas in the birth defect department.  She also enjoyed shopping and spending time together with her two daughters-in-law, Christine, and Cassie Privitt.  Kaye loved all her family and made everyone feel special.  Her sons and grandsons were dear to her heart.

Mike and Kaye celebrated 51 years together and were very blessed. Kaye attended Garden Acres Baptist Church until recently.  She loved the Lord with all her heart. “I have fought the good fight; I have finished the race. I have kept the faith.” 2 Timothy 4:7.

Kaye was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Tennie Welch; brothers, Winfred, and James Yarbrough; and brother-in-law, Butch Gott.
