Elaine Wetzel

Elaine E. Wetzel, 91, of Fort Worth, passed away March 31, 2021.

Elaine was born April 11, 1929 in Norristown, Penn., the daughter of Benjamin and Helen  Blattner Momme.  She graduated from Norristown High School in 1947.  Elaine married Philip Wetzel in 1956, the proprietor of Memory Lane Restaurant in Ocean Township, N.J.  They raised three sons, Philip Jr., Gary, and Michael.  The family enjoyed many travels across the United States while the boys were growing up.  When Philip Sr. died in 1982, Elaine continued through life enjoying travel throughout the world, including all seven continents.  Enjoying life with the family until the end.  This will be her final grand trip.

Elaine was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Philip E. Wetzel, Sr.; her parents; and her brothers, Bruce Momme and Eugene Momme.

She is survived by her loving family, son, Philip E. Wetzel, Jr. and wife, Nancy McBride Wetzel; granddaughter, Taryn Kovacevic (Marin Kovacevic); great-grandchildren, Liliana and Luka Kovacevic; son, Gary Wetzel and wife, Mary Lou Wetzel, granddaughters, Amber Coniff (Jeff Coniff) and Wendy Haines; great-grandchildren, Jacey and Caden Coniff; son, Michael Wetzel and husband, Peter Wetzel; grand-pups, Charlie and Polly; and sister, Marion Meier.

Elaine had the foresight to arrange for a portion of her cremated remains to become a part of the Memorial Spaceflight Services program, and a portion to become an environmentally positive memorial reef through the Eternal Reefs program.
