Don Birdwell

Don B. Birdwell, 78, of Benbrook, Texas, passed away Wednesday, March 24, 2021 surrounded by his family.

Memorial Service:  2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 3, 2021 at Winscott Road Funeral Home, 1001 Winscott Road, Benbrook, Texas 76126.

Don was born January 31, 1943 to H.D. and Inez Birdwell.  He grew up in White Settlement and graduated from Brewer High School in 1961.  Don and his wife, Marilyn, have lived in Benbrook for the last 46 years and are members of Birchman Baptist Church.

Don began his career at General Dynamics before venturing out on his own.  He owned and operated a Texaco station on Las Vegas Trail and then an auto parts store in Mineral Wells for many years.  Don finally returned to General Dynamics (now Lockheed Martin) and remained there until his retirement in 2016.

Don was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn; children:  Tammie Birdwell, Gina Frontino (Robert Calvert), Derck Birdwell, Kristi Bonnema (Scott), and Lezli Jacobs (Hal); grandchildren:  Frankie, Brad, Matt, Evan, Kaylie and Kyle; five great-grandchildren; and sisters:  Billie Pace (Les) and Alicia Miller (Harry).
