David Lee Burkett, 78, passed away Monday, March 15, 2021 in Fort Worth.
David was born July 23, 1942 in Electra, Texas. He graduated from Holliday High School and received his bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Abilene Christian College. David spent 25 years in law enforcement; was a Systems Engineer for Sabre and EDS for American Airlines and was a Criminal Justice Instructor for North Central Texas College.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Marcey Burkett; his parents, Levi Burkett and Grace Burkett Craddock; and his sister, Dorothy Burkett Lewis.
Survivors: Sister, Donna Adams and husband, Jim; son, Vincent Burkett and wife, Sally; daughter, Kelli Burkett Glenn and husband, Chris; son, Matthew Burkett; son, Marshall Burkett; daughter, Lisa Ortiz and husband, Ray; daughter, Terri Cruz and husband, Danny; 15 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and his dear companion, Laura Fernberg.

March 23, 2021 9:59 AMDave was a neighbor and friend for over twenty years. Our hearts are broken in the loss of a very special person. He was always kind and loved helping people. Our visits and meals together were always such a pleasure. There will always be a part of our heart missing. We pray for comfort for Laura and all of the family.
