December 13, 1924 — April 15, 2017

Winston Ibbotson, 92, passed away on April 15, 2017. After struggling with poor health and falls due to Dementia and Alzheimers, Winston left his earthly bonds to be welcomed into the loving arms of his Lord.

Graveside services: 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 28, 2017 at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy., Dallas. Visitation: 9-9:45 a.m., Friday, at the funeral home, prior to leaving for graveside service.

Winston "Win" was a native of Wombwell, Yorkshire, England. At a very young age he immigrated to the United States with his parents, Arthur and Augusta. Their new home became Chicago, Ill. which Win considered his hometown for his whole life. Win was one of the lucky fellows of his generation to see his beloved Cubs win the World Series in 2016. Nothing, except his family, gave Winston greater pride than the opportunity to serve his adopted country in World War II as a Ball Turret Gunner in a B-24 in the China Burma Indian Theatre.

Winston is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Augusta, and his brother, Arthur Jr.

Survivors: Brother, Frank Ibbotson and wife, Carolyn; daughters, Leslie Flattery and husband, Paul, and Susan Schultz; and grandchildren, Caitlin, Danny, Erin, Neil, Colton, John, and Tom.
