Winford Dane Jones

Winford Dane Jones, 91, passed away Sunday, June 4, 2023, in Fort Worth, Texas.

Funeral Service: 11 a.m., Monday, June 12, 2023, at Winscott Road Funeral Home, 1001 Winscott Road, Benbrook, Texas 76126. Burial will take place later this week at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, Dallas.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Wounded Warrior Project or North Texas Food Bank.

Winford was born December 8, 1931, in Turnersville, Texas to Avis and Ella Williams Jones. He was one of six children. Winford retired from the Air Force as Master Sargent. He was a member of Benbrook United Methodist Church. He was a big supporter of Wounded Warrior Project and North Texas Food Bank, and he played a mean game of dominoes. Winford was a beloved brother, husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

Winford is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Frances Jones, his son, Stephen Stierstorfer, his great-grandson, Curtis Wright, and four siblings, Jehu Jones, Bobbie Raley, Nan Dial, and Bruce Jones.

Survivors: Son, Linnie Stierstorfer and wife, Debbie; daughter-in-law, Connie Stierstorfer; two grandchildren, Jeremy McCullough, and Stephanie Wright; five great-grandchildren; one sibling, Mary Matter; and supportive extended family and friends.
