Wilma Jean McWhirter, 87, of Fort Worth, Texas, passed away peacefully on June 12, 2026.

Wilma was born on October 20, 1938, in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma to C.L. Russell and Veda L. Russell. She grew up in Elmore City, Oklahoma and attended school in Elmore City.

Wilma dedicated her life to family and friends. She was known for her outgoing personality and enjoyed her family, camping and sewing.

She is survived by her two daughters, Deborah Borrello and Vicki Dianna Perkins. She has five grandchildren, Michael McWhirter, Tony Don Perkins, Kyle Borrello, Cassidy Borrello Inman and Jessica McWhirter and her sister Sue Johnson, and many other family members and friends who will cherish her memory. She was preceded in death by her husband Jerry Don McWhirter and sons, Terry Don McWhirter and Wayne McWhirter. Her parents, Clarence and Veda Russell, sisters Geraldine Russell and Barbara Clark. Brothers Billy Joe Russell, James Russell, Clarance Russell and Joe Kenneth Russell.

A celebration of Life will be held at Purcell, Oklahoma, date to be determined with burial to follow at Elmore City Cemetery.
