William Rater, Jr.

William Elmer Rater, Jr., 83, of Benbrook, passed away July 25, 2019.

Graveside services: 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, July 30, 2019 at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy., Dallas.

William Rater was born January 3, 1936 in Vicksburg, Mississippi to William Elmer Rater and Emma Buena Matthews Rater. He served in the U.S. Air Force. He later graduated and retired as an engineer at General Dynamics.

He was preceded in death by a son, William Elmer Rater, III.

Survivors: Loving wife of 56 years, Betty Rater; daughter, Stacey Kopfler; daughter, Sheri Jackson and her husband, Patrick; and four grandchildren.
