Wayne Spence

October 4, 1950 — December 6, 2020

Wayne Spence, 70, passed away on December 6, 2020, with his loving wife of 50 years at his side.

He was born October 4, 1950, in Fort Worth, Texas to Dave Spence and Clara Goff Spence as the youngest of four children. He attended school in Fort Worth, where he graduated from Green B. Timble Tech in 1969.

Since he was good with his hands, he studied and worked as a plumber for many years, where he enjoyed being a part of new construction around the area and pointing out the many projects his company helped to build. He also maximized his love of cars by serving as a dealership service writer and in auto parts. He was a volunteer firefighter for the community of Benbrook, where his family still lives today.

Throughout the years, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and camping with friends and family. He worked to restore his beloved Chevy truck. It gave him great joy to ride his motorcycle to rallies and charity rides. He was an active member of the Sons of the American Legion and Legion Riders. He also counted the members of the Chula Chasers as his second family.

He is preceded in death by his mother and father; brother, David; sister, Stella and her husband, David.

Survivors: Wayne is survived by his wife, Debbie; his daughter, Tracy and husband Eric; his son, Troy and wife, Tiffney; his beloved granddaughters whom he affectionately called #1- Shelby, #2- Madison, and #3- Macie; his great-grandsons Dante and Chip; his sister Barbara; brothers-and sisters-in-law; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A private service for the family will be held at Winscott Road Funeral Home. A celebration of life service will take place when it is safer for us all to gather.
