Wanda Ballou

Wanda Marie Burt Ballou was born January 24, 1939 to parents Wayne and Marie Burt in Waco, Texas.  She graduated from University High School in 1954 then moved to Fort Worth, Texas to live with her sister and her family.  She worked as a car hop - back when there was such a thing - sales clerk. gift wrapper, and cashier.  In 1968 she moved to Cleveland, Ohio and later married Walter Ballou.  After his death, she moved back to Fort Worth to live near her mother, brothers, sisters and extended family.

Wanda is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brothers Thomas, Terry and Danny Burt, her sisters Nelda Herod and Kay Garrett, and a daughter Mary Moore.  She is survived by her daughter Cindy Ballou, who was living with her in the golden years, brother Doug Burt and his wife Cathy, along with many nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.

On Saturday, April 15, 2023, Wanda departed this life.  Her departure marks the end to over 60 years of a Burt residing at 7460 Aberdeen Drive, which holds precious memories of all the family.  Although her passing breaks the hearts of those who loved her, they also have shouts of joy knowing that her faith in Jesus has delivered her from this life to an eternal one.  Wanda demonstrated how to love unconditionally, laugh uncontrollably, and submit to the Lord wholeheartedly.  For John 5:24 tells us that whoever believes in Jesus will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life.  If anyone does not know Christ as their personal Savior, you can be assured she is praying for you at the feet of Jesus.
