Velma Scheer

WEATHERFORD -- Velma "VJ" Scheer passed away peacefully Sunday, Feb. 8, 2015.
Burial: Will be held at a later date in Greenwood Memorial Park.
She was born to Everett Lee Jones and Henrietta Lakes Jones on March 4, 1926, in Hamilton, Ohio. She graduated from Fairfield High School in 1944 and worked for General Electric in Cincinnati prior to moving to Texas in 1957 to work in sales for Remington Shavers. After obtaining her real estate license in 1974, she won several awards while employed with Ebby Halliday and was highly active in the Greater Fort Worth Board of Realtors. She was married to Gene Scheer from 1972 until 1979.
She was predeceased by her siblings, Eldon Eugene Jones, Marion Eileen Jones Smith Scofield, Glen Gordon Jones and Brenda Joy Jones Fugate Brown.
Survivors: She leaves behind her son, Larry Longley and his family; stepdaughter, Pamela Scheer Guelda; nephews, Danny Lee Smith, Duane Owen Scofield and Glen Ray Jones; niece, Denise Nadine Scofield Slider; and their families.
