Troy was born on Nov. 15, 1964. He was a Fort Worth native who graduated from Western Hills High School in 1983. He married the love of his life, Cindy Schafer, on June 1, 2002. He was a 10-year employee at Advanced Cast Stone.
Troy was an avid fisherman, skier and diver. He loved spending a day on his fishing boat, searching for that next, great school of bass. He was a fierce Ohio State Buckeyes and Dallas Cowboys fan. Most of all, Troy was a loving father to his daughter, Hannah.
Troy will be remembered for the joy and laughter he always brought to those around him. He could liven up a room with his infectious smile and quick wit. An encounter with Troy could lead to a day of fishing, a round of golf, or a long conversation about his Buckeyes because he never met a stranger.
He was preceded in death by his father, Glayden Schafer.
Survivors: He is survived by his wife, Cindy Nix-Schafer; his daughter, Hannah Schafer; his mother, Barbara Schafer; sister, Christy McQuade; sister, Tara Waldrop; nephews, David McQuade and Jake Waldrop; niece, Ava Waldrop; and numerous friends who will miss him.
