CANON CITY, COLO. -- Travis Carroll Stephens, 70, former resident of Weatherford, passed away peacefully Dec. 7, 2014 at a care center in Canon City, Colo.
Graveside services: 11 a.m., Friday in Annetta Cemetery, 1283 O'Neal Ave. (Hwy 5 South), Annetta.
Travis was born Oct. 4, 1944 in Weinert to J.D. "Doc" Stephens and Lillian Faye (McClure) Stephens. He grew up in Lubbock where he worked with his father in the construction of homes and churches throughout the United States.
Travis loved to play bingo and dominoes with his many friends in Weatherford, where he and his parents moved in 1978. He remained in Weatherford until his parents passed away and then relocated to Canon City, Colo. to live with his brother and sister-in-law. His passion was talking with people and telling stories. He was laughing when his heart suddenly stopped and he went to be with Jesus.
Survivors: Travis is survived by his brother, Larry (Debbie) Stephens; nieces, Chrystal (Steve) Miller and Amber (Jason) Stevens; six great-nieces and nephews; aunt, Margie Pickering (Stewart); and many cousins.
