Steve Murray

December 28, 1948 — April 17, 2020

Steve Murray, 71, of Fort Worth, Texas, passed away unexpectedly on April 17, 2020.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to The Union Gospel Mission of Tarrant County in Steve’s memory, as he spent time volunteering in its soup kitchen. It truly held a special place in his heart.

Steve was born on December 28, 1948 in Chadron, Nebraska to Evelyn and James Murray. He was the youngest of three children, with older brother, James “Jim” Murray Jr. and sister, Linda Gray. Steve attended Rogers High School in Rogers, Arkansas and later graduated from the University of Arkansas in 1973 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. While attending U of A, he met the love of his life, Nancy and wed her on June 27, 1970. They were married for 49 years and had two sons, Scott and Kyle.

Steve was most recently an SAP Payroll Systems Consultant for Accenture, which often had him traveling throughout the nation and sometimes the world. He was a life-long member of Christ the King All Saints Church of Fort Worth where he served in many leadership roles but most importantly, he often cooked breakfast for hungry parishioners before the service. Steve enjoyed traveling with his family, Arkansas Razorback Football, and when time allowed, a few rounds of golf.

Steve is preceded in death by his mother, Jean, his father, James and his sister, Linda.

Survivors: Steve is survived by his wife, Nancy; son Scott and his wife, Jennifer; son, Kyle and his wife, Angela; granddaughter,Reagan; brother, Jim; sisters-in-law, Janice, Shirley and Donna; and many other family members. He will truly be missed by his family, friends and numerous colleagues.
