It is with profound sadness that we share the peaceful passing of Sandra Polster, 81, of Benbrook, Texas. Sandra, a loving wife, mother, grandmother (G-Mom), sister and friend, left us unexpectedly on August 11, 2024.
Sandra was born August 17, 1942, in Dallas, Texas, and lived in Wichita Falls, Texas, during her childhood years. She graduated from Midwestern University in Wichita Falls with a bachelor's degree.
Sandra met Delmer “Tom” Polster when he rented an apartment from her grandmother in Wichita Falls. The two married four years later and moved to the D/FW area where they lived, worked and raised their children. The couple celebrated their 60th anniversary in February of this year. Tom was the love of her life and best friend. She was the office manager for Tom’s independent insurance adjusting business for several years. Sandra was known by all for her kindness and her pleasant and friendly demeanor. She was great at consistently encouraging her daughters and grandchildren in any, and all, of their endeavors.
Sandra cherished spending time with her husband, daughters and grandchildren. She also enjoyed gardening, visiting the beach, keeping up with politics, and caring for her cats (plus all the stray cats in the neighborhood).
Sandra is preceded in death by her beloved grandmother Lee Devers; father Bert Devers; Mother Anita Nixon; and brother John Jaco.
Sandra is survived by her husband, Tom; daughters LeeAnn Polster, Lori Martin, and Kari Neeley and her husband Greg; grandchildren Alexa Martin, Zane Martin, Payton Neeley, and Ashlyn Neeley; and brothers Steve Way, and Gary Devers.
After entering the hospital on Saturday for an emergency gallbladder surgery, Sandra’s heart gave out prior to the surgery, and she could not be revived. She passed peacefully.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 2pm to 4pm, Saturday, August 31 at Stillwater Meadow in Aledo, Texas (9842 E. Bankhead Highway). A private graveside ceremony for immediate family will be held prior to the Celebration of Life.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Diabetes Association at https://diabetes.org/ways-to-give/memorial-gift, or Weatherford Animal Shelter at https://weatherfordtx.gov/3488/Donate.
