Ray Carlberg, 81, Coast Guard Retiree, of Fort Worth, Texas, passed away Monday, October 30, 2023, surrounded by his loving family after a battle with ALS.
Funeral Service: 3:00 p.m., November 6, 2023, at Winscott Road Funeral Home, 1001 Winscott Road, Benbrook, Texas with his visitation following the service, until 6:00 p.m. Burial: 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 7, 2023, at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy, Dallas, Texas. Please arrive at the cemetery no later than 10:45 a.m., Lane 1.

Ray was born in Fort Worth, Texas on August 18, 1942. He attended Arlington Heights High School and then attended Paris Junior College, and UNT Denton. During this time, he enjoyed playing basketball. Ray retired from the US Coast Guard in 1992. After this he sold real estate for a few years before pursuing his passion for showing Cocker Spaniels. One of his proudest times came when he made it to Grand Champion Bronze with Allie. Ray especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends during the holidays. He also enjoyed golf, bowling, and scuba diving with family and friends.
Ray is preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Pauline Carlberg; brother, Jim Carlberg; and his son, Gregory Scott Carlberg.
Survivors include his loving wife of 28 years, Donna; daughters and their spouses, Vicki Hayes (Bob), Sheri Grimes (Terry), and Dabney Kidd (Eddie); step-daughter, Tami Lucas (Joseph); sister, Lynette Spence; brother, Richard Carlberg (Trish); grandchildren, Randi, Shannon (Cameron), Kellie, Robert (Debra), Billy, Taylor (Mitch), Angela, Kyle, Chris (Jared), Becca, Lauren, Robert (Deanna), Jessica (Jace) and Jennifer (Ian). He also had 12 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; and also his Furbabies, Wiggles, Cricket, Suggie, Allie, and Tex.
