FORT WORTH -- Paula Corman, 79, passed away Monday, July 27, 2015, surrounded by family in Fort Worth.
Funeral: 10 a.m. Friday in the chapel of Winscott Road Funeral Home, 1001 Winscott Road, Benbrook. Interment: Laurel Land Memorial Park, Fort Worth. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorials: In lieu of usual remembrances, the family suggests contributions in Paula's memory to Community Hospice of Texas, 6100 Western Place, Suite 105, Fort Worth, Texas 76107.
Paula Elizabeth Gissel Corman was born March 14, 1936, in Huntington, W. Va., daughter of the late Karl Heinrich and Ossie Leona Ray Gissel. Paula and her family moved to Fort Worth in 1967 and she made her career with General Dynamics and Montgomery Ward. She retired from Montgomery Ward after many dedicated years of service. In 1981, she married Clay Corman and they made their home in Fort Worth.
Among many associations, Paula was very active in her church, Springtown Seventh-day Adventist Church, where she was the pianist and head deaconess. She was also involved in Eastern Star.
Paula was preceded in death by her husband, Clay Corman in 2005; a daughter, Elizabeth Gatlin; and her parents.
Survivors: Children, Jeff Petrie and wife, Laura, of Granbury, Karla Petrie of Fort Worth, and Karen Creighton and husband, James, of Cleburne; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; sister, Donna Wheeler and husband, Don, of Barboursville, W. Va.; loving neighbors, Olivia and Art Villarreal of Fort Worth; and numerous other loving family and friends.
