Nellie Biggs, a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother married Al Biggs in 1953. They met on a blind date and wonderful magic occurred that day and lasted 67 years.
Nellie was born in Wichita Falls, Texas on September 3, 1932 to Noel and Alta Yeakley. She had three brothers and two sisters. She was a devout Christian and had worked with Baptist Training Union and Sunday School as well as supporting other activities.
She enjoyed traveling, but if asked where she would like to go most, she would say, “Home”. She was always ready to go on an adventure, but after the trip, just as ready to get home. A brave lady, she more than once crossed oceans and continents to be with Al.
Nellie was a wonderful homemaker and cook. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing, porcelain painting, cross stitch and other skilled handicrafts. Nellie loved to tell stories of growing up and meeting Al to her grandkids. She had a quick wit and an unending sense of humor. She was fiercely loyal to her family.
Survivors: She is survived by her husband, Albert Biggs; her daughter, Kathy Hooper and husband, Steve; her son, Terry Biggs and wife, Laura; her grandchildren, Josiah Biggs and wife, Helga, Philip Biggs and wife, Anna, Zachary Biggs and wife, Jasmin, Abigail Biggs, Hannah Einfalt and husband, Casey, Mary Grace Biggs and Emma Biggs; her great-grandchildren, Joshua, Evelyn and Rose Biggs; her brothers, Lester and Alton Yeakley; and her sisters, Kathy Johnson and Lillie Galloup.
