Michael Stephen Plunkett, 68, of Benbrook, passed away Monday, May 28, 2018, Memorial Day, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Funeral service: 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at Winscott Road Funeral Home, 1001 Winscott Road, Benbrook 76126. Visitation: 5-7:00 p.m., Monday, June 4, 2018 at the funeral home. Burial: 1:15 p.m., Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy, Dallas 75211.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project, woundedwarriorsproject.org.
Steve was born January 9, 1950 in Fort Worth to Bill Leon Plunkett and Jacquelyne Louise Pittman Plunkett. He was a graduate of Poly High School, and proudly served in the Marine Corp in Vietnam with the 1st Recon Battalion, Charlie Team. Steve loved to play golf, race motorcycles, and spend time with friends and family.
Survivors: Loving wife, Sherry Plunkett; stepson, Matt Taylor and wife, Christine; stepdaughter, Melissa Grizzle and husband, Adam; brother, Bill Plunkett; niece, Michelle Eyerman; grandchildren, Thomas Jay Taylor, Isabella Grace Taylor, Devon Matthew Thomas, Aly, Tory, and Sammy Grizzle; great-nieces and nephews, and countless friends.
