Marilyn N. Love, 93, passed away peacefully on February 1, 2023, in her home surrounded by her loved ones.
Marilyn was born December 12, 1929, in Kansas City, Missouri to Frank B. Neil and Jesse Kathryn Smullin. She was raised in Beaumont, Texas. Marilyn was well read and educated. She graduated with a Bachelors’ degree in Speech Pathology at TWU in Denton, and a Masters’ degree in Deaf Education at Columbia University in New York City.
She moved to Fort Worth 1951 and started her teaching career for deaf children. Marilyn soon met the love of her life, Kenneth Love. They were married in 1956, and had three amazing children, and a beautiful family. Marilyn and Kenneth would have been together 67 years and are now reunited in Heaven.
Marilyn loved her family, and they were her heart and soul. She extended her love to her church where she became the Coordinator of the Acolytes for over three decades, organized and coordinated the Kirkin of the Tartan services, for which she was very passionate about, and was also a wedding coordinator.
She was a humanitarian in her community and gave back to others as well as volunteering for many organizations, such as the Warm Place, Cook Children’s Hospital, and the Presbyterian Night Shelter. She had a passion for people and never met a stranger. She touched every life she met and left footprints on their heart and affected their lives in a positive way. Marilyn always had a way of connecting with people in all walks of life.
And last but not least, as many of you know she “bled purple” and was the biggest TCU Horned Frog Fan in Fort Worth, along with the love of many other sports.
“Riff Ram Bah Zoo, Give ‘Em Hell TCU.”
GO FROGS!!
