Marie Blankenship

June 27, 1925 — July 4, 2015

Marie Clark Blankenship, beloved mother, sister, aunt and "Granny," peacefully stepped into the arms of Jesus on Saturday, July 4, 2015.
Service: There will be a private graveside service for family.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, consideration of a contribution to your choice of charity is appreciated.
Marie was born in Panola County on June 27, 1925. She was educated in the Marshall school system and graduated from high school in 1942.
Marie's life work was in the banking field where she touched many lives and enjoyed many avenues of the banking world.
Marie met her husband, Cecil Blankenship, in Dallas and they were married on Sept. 16, 1944. She handled her role as wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and great-grandmother with honor, strength and love. Together they enjoyed watching sports on TV and were avid golf fans.
Marie was an inspiring person in all our lives and will be greatly missed, but we are comforted by the knowledge that she is clothed in a new heavenly body and she and Cecil are together again.
You can remember her only that she is gone or you can cherish her memory and let her live on. That is what she would want. She will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband Cecil of 66 years who preceded her in death on Sept. 15, 2010, and waits for her with open arms to be reunited together forever with their heavenly Father. We can let her go much easier since we know they are happily together once again, which was her greatest wish.
Survivors: Marie is survived by her son, William and his wife, Nancy; grandson, Brian Blankenship and his wife, Kellie; granddaughter, Amy Williams and her husband, Chris; great-grandchildren, Zachary and Natalie Blankenship, and Emma and Avery Williams; sisters, Olive Lee Clark Stephens and Jaunita Clark Nowlin; brother, Charles Clark; many nieces and nephews; and other extended family members, all of whom she dearly loved.
