Lonnie was born July 7, 1936 in Stephenville, Texas. He was the 7th child in his family. He graduated from Stephenville High School (SHS) in 1955 where he excelled in all sports. Lonnie was the quarterback of the football team and loved the game. He was the first in his family to attend college. He received a scholarship from TCU where he played football. Lonnie graduated in 1960 from TCU with a degree in Physical Education and a minor in History. He was drafted to play football by the Baltimore Colts but declined the offer to coach and remain in Texas.

Lonnie was married to Barbara Ann Harris in 1956. They were high school sweethearts and Mr. and Mrs. SHS in 1955. They were married 63 years. Lonnie’s greatest joy was being surrounded by his family. He always took great interest in his grandchildrens’ activities and was their number one fan. Once again, family always came first.

In 1961 he started Custom Building and Remodeling. For 57 years he helped people through fire and water home repairs. Helping people was his calling. It is still today a family owned and run company serving people throughout the DFW area. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Benbrook, Texas. His passions included family, his faith, football, horseracing, dominos, and golf. Lonnie was one of a kind and will always be in our hearts.
