Lola Mae was born to Freeman and Odelle Philpott on July 12, 1933. She was the loving wife of the late, John A. Fant for 56 years, devoted mother and cherished Granny. She was an avid sports fan as well as talented pianist and organist having served as such for decades at Western Hills United Methodist Church, following which she and John sang in the church choir for years. Lola Mae retired from her service with the Fort Worth ISD where she was a teacher’s aide and office administrator. Thereafter, her proficiency as a seamstress was always on display as she made clothes for herself and her family. But most impactful was how she touched so many lives by making quilts, baby quilts in particular. The countless number of quilts she produced for children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family, friends, and church auctions served as her love language and impacted so many lives. Always quick to assist, she was available to lend help in any way possible serving on church committees and supporting her family and friends.
