Linwood Theodore Gray

May 4, 1944 — July 6, 2024

Fort Worth, Texas

Linwood T. Gray, 80, of White Settlement, Texas passed peacefully at his home July 6, 2024 surrounded by his loving family. He has moved on to be with our Lord and Savior. Born May 4, 1944 in Greenville, North Carolina he was a free will baptist and was raised working the tobacco fields and farm after high school, and working a few sales jobs as well. He then decided to join the Army from which he met his wife of 53 years here in Fort Worth, Texas.

Linwood was a man that worked hard all his life while able to do so. He had his own carpet and upholstery cleaning business in Sarasota, Florida the seven years he lived there. He later sold it to move back to Texas, where he began another one. He had a lawn mowing business at one point just because he wanted to keep working as long as his health would allow. He loved spending time outdoors, grilling, making his famous North Carolina BBQ chicken, camping and fishing. Anytime he could sit by the water and fish he would pack a picnic and go. He loved food! He had to have hot sauce on everything! He would grow his own garden every year to make fresh hot sauce. Linwood loved sitting out back under the gazebo and listening to music. He was a loving husband, father and papa. Always full of advice. The man with a plan. Many have said Mr. Unforgettable. He loved seeing the children and talking with family. They always put a smile on his face!

Linwood is survived by his wife of 53 years, Jacquelyn Gray; five children, daughter, Regina Gray Harper of Greenville, NC, granddaughters, Cigi, and Shannon; son, Ted Gray and wife, Jeannette of Wilmington, NC, granddaughter, Leah, grandson, Josh, and granddaughter, Reagan; son, Tim Gray and wife, Courtney of Aledo, grandson, Jordan, granddaughter, Cameron, and grandson, Rhett; daughter, Julie Gray Roberts and husband, Sunny of Fort Worth, grandsons, Deven Gray, and Maverick Roberts; daughter, Bobbie Gray of White Settlement; his godsend who loved and cared for him and all needs to the very end; and many, many great grandchildren!
