Larry Porterfield

Larry Porterfield, 68, passed away February 22, 2018 surrounded by his loving family and friends.

Private services will be held in Oklahoma.

Larry was born Dec. 9, 1949 in Bakersfield, Calif. He was an avid fisherman. Larry never met a stranger. He worked as a contractor and developer all over the world building resorts, hotels, condo's and homes. He battled colorectal cancer for four years and melanoma cancer for six years before his passing. But throughout his illness Larry remained positive, focused and supportive, fighting his battle with a sense of humor.

He was preceded in death by his father, Henry Porterfield; mother, Aileen Cheely Porterfield; brother, Stephen Porterfield; and beloved pets, Sadie and Roper.

Larry is survived by his beloved wife, Shawn R. (Cawley) Porterfield; son, Eric Porterfield and wife, Leslie; daughters, Brooke Porterfield and Kelly Cawley; sisters, Kelly Edgmon and husband, Drew, and Brenda Strickland; grandchildren, McKenzie, Abbye and Lakelynn Porterfield, and Garrett Martin; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
