Kevin Stewart

Kevin Clark Stewart, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on January 2, 2023. He recently had a birthday and turned 61 years old. He resided in Benbrook, Texas.

Memorial Services: 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 14, 2023, at Winscott Road Funeral Home, Benbrook, Texas.

Kevin was born December 27, 1961, to Rodney Clark Stewart and Evelyn Stewart in Monticello, Arkansas. He grew up in Monticello, and always returned to visit his home and his parents with his son, Jon, many times throughout his life.

Kevin moved to Texas after he finished his education and worked in several different fields. He had a very close friend who was a plumber, and he became Kevin’s mentor.  Kevin learned the trade and began working for him as a journeyman.

He met his love, Deborah Stewart and found his soulmate, his wife, and they shared a life together for 26 years.

Kevin took the skills that he was taught and became self-employed, opening his own business. He started K&S Tile Service and used his knowledge and experience to help many people upgrade their homes. He was such a benevolent worker who always wanted to do the right thing for the customer.

His love for music and playing guitar helped him to have many friends.  Music was his passion. He enjoyed sharing his talent with several students throughout the years ranging from five years old to 80 years old. He never stopped playing his guitar. When he played music, you could feel his devotion in every note that he strummed.

The love he had for fishing was passed down to him from his father. They would fish for hours on a quiet, peaceful lake in Arkansas where they made long-lasting memories. He enjoyed sharing this time with many family members and friends. In his heart, Kevin was a nemophilist.

Kevin is preceded in death by his father, Rodney Stewart; his mother, Evelyn Stewart; his brother, Richard Stewart; his two sisters, Kimberly Montgomery, and Sandy Stewart; and his nephew, Dustin Montgomery.

Survivors:  Wife, Deborah Stewart; brothers, Steve Stewart and wife, Sara Stewart, Mike Stewart, David Stewart and wife, Tina Stewart, Vernon Bland and wife, Jill Ashworth; his son, Jon Stewart; stepsons, Michael Johnson, and Justin Johnson and his wife, Deysi Johnson; brother-in-law, Robert Montgomery; grandchildren, Kayla Johnson, Tylar Johnson, Carter Johnson, Jozzlynn Stewart, Jaxson Stewart, great-grandson, Luca Gonzalez; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.
