Jodie Tezak

February 5, 1930 — February 5, 2023

Fort Worth

Jodie Tezak, beloved wife, mother, and friend went home to be with the Lord on February 5, 2023, celebrating her 93rd birthday.

Jodie was born in Chillicothe, Texas on February 5, 1930, to D. Hollingsworth and Cordelia Mayfield Hollingsworth. Jodie was married on August 2, 1949, to the love of her life, John Tezak, who preceded her in death in 2005.

It is not an exaggeration to say, “if you knew Jodie, you loved her.” An avid bridge player of over seventy years, she was also a consummate cook, artist, homemaker, tireless church volunteer, and music lover. She loved crosswords, football, and murder mysteries. But her greatest love was the Lord, her family, and her precious dogs. Jodie truly loved and laughed with abandon. We are so grateful for the gift of her life.

Jodie was preceded in death by her husband, John Tezak; and two brothers, James Hollingsworth, and V.E. MacIntosh.

Survivors include four children, Tricia Smothers of Bruceton, Tennessee, Michele Tezak of Fort Worth, Texas, Tony Tezak of Laramie, Wyoming, and Mike Tezak and Julie of Bellingham, Washington; three grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, and nephews; and her many great friends and bridge buddies for whom she deeply cared and enjoyed.
