Jason Christopher Golden

March 26, 1975 — January 22, 2024

Fort Worth

Jason Golden, 48, passed away on January 22, 2024. Jason Christopher Golden was born March 26, 1975, in Fort Worth to parents, Clifford Golden and Pam Matthews Golden. He graduated from Lewisville High School where he played football and was recognized as All District Center. He also attended and played football at Tyler Junior College.

Jason was a huge lover of the outdoors, whether it was the beach or the mountains. He enjoyed hunting with his father and his friends. Jason said the best experience of his life was running a bar in remote Warren, high in the Idaho mountains. Here he lived off the grid, with no electricity and chopping his own wood. He always said he was born 100 years too late and felt he would have liked to live like Jeremiah Johnson. For most of his adventures he was accompanied by his big black dog Lexi.

Later in life Jason took up songwriting and learned to play the guitar. He loved to jam with his friend, Joey Deason, and to play his songs for his mom, who was always his greatest supporter.

By giving the gift of his corneas and other tissue, he was able to change the lives of up to 75 people.

Jason is predeceased by his father; his paternal grandparents, Hugh and Matty Golden; and his maternal grandparents, John and Marjory Matthews.

He is survived by his mother, Pam Habeeb; sister, Monica Golden Thorp; aunts, Vicki Smith, and Debby Farr (husband, James Farr); stepmother, Mo Ruiz Golden; niece, Mia Thorp; cousin, Kimberley Pollard, and other cousins and friends.
