Helen Marie Reeves Boydston born July 23, 1930, in Weatherford. Her family moved to Texarkana, Texas, when she was a child making their life there. Upon graduation and seeking business school, Helen returned to Fort Worth. She was employed at a bank and met Jim Boydston, who made repeated small increment deposits at her station in one day which he continued throughout the week. And need we say more.
Jim and Helen were married May 24, 1958, and bought their home in Benbrook where their roots were established while raising three children, Johnny, Allison and Jemma.
Helen went to work for Millers Insurance Group in 1958 where she retired in 1995 as their only statistician.
Helen was active in her children's activities even taking the role of manager of the girls' softball team for several years as well as overseeing the school fall carnivals. And when the children left home, she found interest in the 49'ers Domino Group, The Birthday Club assisting with numerous gospel quartets monthly, and remained active in her home churches loving each of those she befriended. She took on aliases of "Lucy," "Matilda" and "Benbrook Streetwalker" for Mayor Herbert distributing handbills.
Helen welcomed her daughter-in-law, Brenda, into the home in 1969 when Johnny left for boot camp. Little did she know then that this young lady would be another daughter, a love of her life, and creative foundation to the family.
Helen was preceded by her parents, Coy and Fannie Mae Reeves; her sisters, Ouida and Geraldine; a nephew, Leslie Dove; a granddaughter, Tammy Boydston; and her husband, Jimmie, in 1999.
Survivors:
Helen is survived by her children, Johnny Boydston, Allison Boydston, Jemma Boydston, all of the Fort Worth area; seven grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; three nieces; many extended family members; and her dream of her legacy for the children to carry on.
