Harry Gene Cendroski, 82, passed away peacefully on November 28, 2021 at his home in Fort Worth. He was born December 19, 1938 in Wichita Falls, Texas. He graduated from Wichita Falls High in 1957. He then enlisted in the Navy and served from 1957 to 1963. He was stationed in San Diego, and traveled all over the world and was also stationed in Italy. Gene loved playing drums and played music in many different musical groups including Willie Nelson for several years. He had an entrepreneur spirit and owned a donut shop and meat market, and worked as a realtor. Gene was an amazing carpenter and handy man, and loved square dancing and playing in jamborees. He was a Mason and a member of the Cowboy Church in Graham, Texas.
He is preceded in death by his father, John Cendroski; mother, Mamie Murphree; brother, Bobby Cendroski; sisters, Ruby Hale and Evelyn Core; and second wife, Charlotte Centroski.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Ann Cendroski; son, Johnny Gene Cendroski; daughter, Kimberly Ann Hilmer; grandson, Johnny Cendroski, Jr,; granddaughter, Payton Ashley Hilmer; and three great-grandchildren.
Celebration of his life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 2, 2021 at Winscott Road Funeral Home, 1001 Winscott Road, Benbrook, Texas 76126. He will be later laid to rest at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers donations are requested to Beyond Faith Hospice in Weatherford, or Vitas Hospice of Fort Worth.
