Hannah Cook

March 19, 2014 — January 1, 2015

Hannah Faith Cook, 9 months, passed away January 1, 2015. Funeral: 6:00 p.m., Wednesday at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 4513 Williams Road, Benbrook, 76116. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday at Winscott Road Funeral Home, 1001 Winscott Road. In October of 2013 before Hannah was even born we were told she was going to die. Hannah had Trisomy 18, a life limiting chromosomal genetic condition. It is considered incompatible with life in much of the medical literature. Hannah beat the odds and was born full term at Harris Methodist Southwest hospital in Fort Worth on March 19th 2014. There she turned hearts and heads and amazed all by thriving outside of the womb. Hannah was a wonderful sister to Evelyn and Jamie who adored and loved to hug her and help her do her exercises. Her charm overcame her nurses Terri and Dandria, who fell in love with her sweet blue eyes and her chubby thighs. Hannah captivated her grandparents John & Ona, and Dave & Corinne, with her precious snuggles. She challenged her parents every day to learn more and more about her medical conditions and most importantly how to listen to God and trust in His perfect plan. She proved everyday that she was compatible with life. Hannah's short months on earth taught those in the medical profession that met her to look at her and not at her chromosomes. Without the love and support of the doctors, nurses, respiratory therapists, care partners and all the other staff at Harris Southwest, Medical City Dallas and Cook Children's we would have had to say goodbye much earlier. In the early hours of 2015 Hannah succumbed to an illness that ripped through her body in less than a day. Her life touched more people than we know and blessed us all for the time she was with us. She will remain in the hearts and souls of all that knew her. While our hearts are broken we take great comfort in the knowledge that Hannah is currently basking in the Love of our Savior with a body that is perfect and whole. We look forward to the day we get to scoop her back up into our arms. Hannah was preceded in death by her great-grandparents, Elmer and Dorothy Cook, Ora and Thelma Maurer, and William and Edna Stohr; and great-grandfather, Charles Crown. Hannah is survived by her loving parents, Jason and Kristen Cook of Crowley; siblings, Evelyn and Jamie Cook of Crowley; grandparents, David and Cory Stohr of Keller; grandparents, John and Ona Cook of Dallas; aunts and uncles, Phil and Beka Cook of Flower Mound, and Justin and Heidi Botros of Keller; cousins, Thomas, Noree and Evan Cook of Flower Mound, and Annalise and Penny of Keller; and great-grandmother, Bernadine Crown of Fredricksburg, Va.
