Mac was born at home December 25, 1929 in Columbus, Ohio, the only child of Harry and Madeline McFadden. He was a resident of Fort Worth for 58 years. Glenn was a devoted husband of 66 years to Delores Jean Bauman whom he married September 15, 1951. He was a graduate of Ohio State University College of Architecture and immediately enlisted and was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the United States Air Force and retired with an honorable discharge as a Captain in 1959. He was stationed in Wisconsin, Baffin Islands, Fort Walters in Mineral Wells, and finally Carswell AFB in Fort Worth and is a veteran of the Korean War. Glenn worked for 14 years at General Dynamics as an aerospace engineer, Champlain Petroleum company as an architect, and retired from Texas Woman's University as the resident architect in 1991.
Glenn and his wife, Delores were active in General Dynamics, Fort Worth, and Dallas sports car clubs for many years as Glenn owned, drove, and personally maintained a vintage Triumph TR3 sports car for 25 years and repeated his passion with a 1977 280z until his death. Glenn was an accomplished woodworker and builder designing his current residence and two homes for his son and his wife. He built several vintage toys and hand-made a Lincoln Log set and elaborate cradle for his grandson along with many pieces featured in his home. Glenn was a quiet man in his faith and devoted to his country, family and friends. His son describes him as "the best Easter Bunny, Santa Claus, and Tooth Fairy a boy could ever have (never caught him once even though he tried to very hard".
He is preceded in death by his father, Harry Glenn McFadden who died a hero in a fire as a lieutenant in the Columbus, Ohio fire department when Glenn was a small boy of 6, and his mother, Madeline Huber.
Survivors: Loving wife, Delores McFadden, son, Craig Douglas McFadden, of Houston and Huntington; and a daughter; grandson, Wyatt Douglas McFadden, attending Louisiana State University; and he "adopted" as his own, Karrie Delores Havard, wife of Craig McFadden.
