Gayle Hughes Thompson, 75, passed away unexpectedly on October 4, 2017.
Funeral service. 2:00 p.m., Monday at Winscott Road Funeral Home, 1001 Winscott Road, Benbrook, Texas 76126. Visitation: 12:00 p.m. To 2 p.m., Monday. Burial: Laurel Land Memorial Park, Fort Worth.
Gayle was a New Years Day baby and born in Atlanta, Georgia on January 1, 1942 to parents, Virginia Ashworth Hughes and James Craig Hughes. She retired in 2002 from the Federal Aviation Administration after serving for 25 years. During her retirement, she was an active member of the Red Hat Society of Fort Worth. She enjoyed jewelry making as a hobby and visiting the beautiful beaches of the Florida panhandle regularly. Gayle was considered the “life of the party” with her wonderful personality and sense of humor. She will be greatly missed by all of her family members and friends in North Texas.
Survivors: She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Jerry Ronald Thompson; sons, Todd D. Thompson and Randy P. Thompson; and siblings, Phyllis Poston and Craig Hughes.
