Gary Michael Albin, 75, passed away on July 2, 2026, due to a sudden illness.
Memorial Service: 12:00 p.m., Thursday, July 23, 2026, at Winscott Funeral Home, 1001 Winscott Road, Benbrook, Texas 76126.
Gary was born on August 4, 1950, in Fort Worth, Texas. He attended Trinity Valley Private School and graduated from Arlington Heights High School in 1968. He was drafted into the United States Army in May 1970, where he served as a Medical Corpsman until he was honorably discharged in January 1972.
Gary was a skilled electrician whose career took him from installing mobile audio systems in his early years to advanced electronics in the oil industry before retiring from AT&T. During retirement, he enjoyed playing golf, fishing, playing cards with friends, woodworking, vacationing throughout Texas with his wife, Susan, watching football with friends, and hosting large family cookouts, pool parties, and holiday gatherings. He also loved animals and rescued many small dogs and cats.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Norma Almon Barns and Ferris Isaac Albin, and his brothers, David, Jimmy, Edwin, Bobby, and Kenneth.
He is survived by his sister, Lisa Smith, and her husband, Kevin, of Fort Worth; his brother, Johnny Albin, of Missouri; his sister, Sue Ann Albin, of Colorado; his daughter, Allori Leone, her husband, Mike, and their daughter, of Corpus Christi; his stepdaughter, Norma Nay, her husband, Don Jr., and their son, Donny, of Lakeside; his nephew, Ed Albin Jr., of Lakeside; his sister-in-law, Debbie Albin, of Crowley; along with many other nephews, nieces, great-nephews, and great-nieces.
The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Benbrook Animal Shelter, 4 Paws of Benbrook, or the Humane Society of Fort Worth.
