She graduated school in Amarillo, and then moved to Fort Worth for work. Polly visited the State Fair with friends and met her sweetheart, the love of her life, a handsome serviceman, Buddie E. Rutledge. Polly and Buddie married on January 14, 1956, and lovingly celebrated their marriage for 62 years. Polly and Buddie had two sons, Rod and Brad. Polly was a joyful, blessed, and proud Mom, always committed to raising her family with God’s word and His forever love. Polly adored her three grandchildren and nothing made her happier than having her family together. Polly loved praise music and loved to sing. She was gifted with a beautiful voice Polly always enjoyed cooking for everyone and eagerly collected recipes, awaiting her next family gathering. She especially loved sharing their family lake house in Weatherford, with countless parties and celebrations. She was always so excited preparing for a party, sharing the day, and always serving giant amounts of food! Polly loved keeping in touch with her friends and family, and could chat for hours. She loved bible study and fellowship she loved sharing His word everyday!
Polly was an entrepreneur and an antique lover. She enjoyed owning a gift store and a beauty shop for many years. During her career, Polly also worked as an executive secretary for the Baptist Radio and Television Commission for many years, a job she loved. Polly was a beautiful, loving, devoted wife, mother, sister, daughter, and the most super awesome Grandmother “MiMi”! She will be so missed by her beloved family and friends. And today we are comforted, knowing that she is absolutely singing in heaven. We love you “MiMi”!
