Dona Loy Shelton Faudree, 82, passed away peacefully on May 6, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, May 10 at Birchman Baptist Church. Visitation is scheduled for Friday, May 9, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Winscott Road Funeral Home. Dona will be laid to rest at Burke Cemetery.
Born on July 15, 1942, in Fort Worth, Dona was the beloved daughter of Lloyd and Evelyn Shelton. Her family was among the first 100 families to settle in Fort Worth, marking a significant chapter in the city's history.
Dona was married to Charles Curtis Faudree for 65 wonderful years, and together they raised two children. She was the proud owner and operator of Dona’s Wigs for several decades, earning the loyalty and admiration of many customers. Dona had a passion for travel and cruising, which brought her immense joy.
She was preceded in death by her son, Chuck Faudree. Dona is survived by her devoted husband, Curtis Faudree of Fort Worth; her loving daughter, Karen Wiseman and her husband Richard; and her cherished grandsons, Stephen Jackson and Kennen Faudree.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to Burke Cemetery or the Birchman Baptist Church Building Fund.
