Deborah Jean Russell, born November 17, 1957, went to be with the lord February 12, 2024.


Throughout her life Debbie acted as a nurse caring for many people, most often the elderly and infirm. Her most joyous times were with her husband, who she met at the age of 16, and her daughters. She enjoyed music and dancing, especially to Elvis Presley. Deborah loved to see the wonder of nature. She loved to cook and enjoyed all types of food and had an adventurous palate. She spent her leisure time with her large and loud extended family. Deborah loved to act as advisor and friend to her many nieces, nephews, and her children’s friends. She had deep and lifelong friendships with the lovely women she met while working in nursing.

 

She was preceded in death by her father, Lee Roy Hamilton; her mother, Deborah Lavern Zink; and her daughter, Chrystalena Marie Russell. 

 

Survivors: Her husband, John Eugene Russell; daughter, Kelli Michelle Grundhoffer; daughter, Amy Dawn Hunt; grandson, Jordan Octavius Hunt; and father, William Zink.

 

She will be missed greatly by all who knew her. 

 

“And he carried me away in the Spirit to a mountain great and high, and showed me the Holy City, coming down out of Heaven from God. It shone with the glory of God, and its brilliance was like that of a very precious jewel, like a jasper, clear as crystal.”

 

Memorial service: 1:00 p.m., Friday, March 1, 2024, at Winscott Road Funeral Home.
