David Elkouri

BENBROOK -- David Elkouri, 55, passed away Monday, Feb. 23, 2015, at his home in Benbrook.
Memorial service: 2 p.m. Tuesday at Winscott Road Funeral Home, 1001 Winscott Road.
Born Nov. 29, 1959, in Corpus Christi he attended King High School. He received a bachelor of social work degree from the University of Texas at Arlington. David worked for various 12-step recovery programs over the years. He sponsored and helped many people with their recoveries. David was clean and sober for over 25 years himself.
David enjoyed playing and composing music. He was in a band called Blue Radio that performed regularly in Fort Worth. They recorded an album in 2002.
David was preceded in death by a brother, Doran Randal Elkouri, in 2001.
Survivors: Parents, Henry and Gertrude Elkouri of Fort Worth; and brother, Brian Elkouri of Austin.
