Danny Ray Cottle passed away peacefully at home on Monday, October 6th. He went home to be with his Lord at the age of 65 in Benbrook, Texas. Dan was born in Huntington, West Virginia on March 2nd, 1960. He was the son of Jim and Helen Cottle and grandson of Halley and Opal Cook, who preceded him in death.

Dan is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Susan Cottle. He is lovingly remembered by his children James and wife Erin and daughter, Andrea. Dan's sister Leah and husband Kevin Miller, nephew Kyle and wife Tara Miller of Findlay Ohio and Ethan Miller of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He is also remembered by his mother and father-in-law Boni and Pat Fraustro. Brother-in-law Tim and wife Judy Fraustro and their sons Dylan and Addison and wife Maegan.

Danny was a graduate of Marshall University. He was a dedicated employee of the US Postal Service in both West Virginia and Benbrook, Texas for 35 years. Dan's lifelong love of ships led him to eventually own a Cruise Planners franchise. A great man of faith, Dan was a lifelong member of the Church of the Nazarene. He faithfully served his local church in many capacities for the last forty years. A recent member of Benbrook Area Chamber of Commerce, Danny received the Ambassador of the Year award in 2021.

One of Dan's most endearing traits was his sense of loyalty and friendship which is demonstrated by maintaining childhood friendships, family connections, and his lifelong love for the Cincinnati Reds and the Dallas Cowboys.

The family would like to thank their amazing friends Gus and Darlene Cryer for their love and unwavering support throughout Dan's illness.

Matthew 25:23 is the perfect summation of Dan's life. "His master said to him, well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master."

Dan's celebration of life will be officiated by Rev. Todd Derbyshire and Rev. Ruben Cordero at Crosspoint Church of the Nazarene on Friday, October 10 at 11 am. Interment to follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 at Winscott Road Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Crosspoint Church of the Nazarene.
