Daniel was born Nov. 4, 1964 in Dimmitt, Texas. A lot of people say that when a person dies, he or she are a good person. Our brother truly was a good and kind hearted person. He would help anyone in any way he could. He always reminded us of 'Cool Hand Luke' with that distinct smile he always had.
Dedicated at a young age, he began his boxing career and you could tell he had a gift for it. I had the privilege to watch most of his fights. He was instrumental with his technique, like a surgeon with his hands. His first boxing coach, Robert Cisneros (R.I.P.), had the most influence on him. After 4 years with Mr. Cisneros, he joined Gorman Masonry Boxing Club. This is where his amateur career took off. He won several Golden Gloves that lead him to represent the U.S. Nationals in Canada that won him the belt.
He was an avid Minnesota Viking fan and loved watching the game. His favorite player was Fran Tarkington. He also loved to watch basketball.
A brother is a friend God gave you. A brother is a friend your heart chose for you. Sometimes being a brother is better than having a superhero. Happiness is when your brothers act like your bodyguard. Love between brothers is messy, loud, rough, sweet, fierce, fun, unique and most of all forever. -- by Alfredo Campos.
"I'll see you on the other side brother!" -- by Donna Campos.
