Clara Mae Brinton went to her heavenly home at the age of 95 years and 4 months on the evening of May 4, 2022.
Clara was born December 23, 1926, in Lawrence, Kansas. She was the first child born to Bert and Florilla Ambler Harbour and the oldest of six girls and three boys. Clara had many names to go by: daughter, sister, wife, mother, momma, grandmother, Squirrel, Phyllis Ann, and lastly Grandma "B". Clara was Grandma "B" to many that knew her in her later years, and "Squirrel" in her years of work in Chambersburg High School as a guidance counselor.
Clara was preceded in death by her parents; five siblings; husband, John Holtry; husband, Glenn Brinton; and her son, Rev. William Holtry.
She is survived by two brothers, Harry Kurtz, and Harold Kurtz; and one sister, Ernetta Ott, all of which live in Pennsylvania; three children, Dennis Holtry, Dwayne Cooper, and Anita Colbert; ten grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m., May 21, 2022, at Winscott Road Funeral Home, 1001 Winscott Road, Benbrook, Texas 76126.
A second service will be held at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, June 1, 2022, at Blue Mountain BIC Church, 215 Tabor Road, Newburg, Pennsylvania. Those who wish to visit with the family may do so from 5-6:00 p.m. on Wednesday immediately prior to the church service. A graveside service will be held for family at the Roxbury Union Cemetery.
