Christy Sue Carson

Christy Sue Carson, Chris, was born on September 2, 1952, in Wichita Falls, Texas. She passed away on July 14, 2023, at the age of 70 in Fort Worth, Texas. Chris was a beloved member of her family and will be deeply missed.

Chris had a vibrant personality and a great sense of humor. Her infectious laughter brightened the lives of those around her. She had a beautiful singing voice, was extremely creative and incredibly intelligent. She graduated from Teheran American High School in Teheran, Iran. She earned her bachelor’s degree in accounting from Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls. Chris was very proud of her designation of Certified Public Accountant.

Chris had a special love for dogs. She considered her furry companions, Simon, Sassy, and Sadie, as her own children. She was an avid supporter of the Dallas Cowboys. She loved to play spades, hearts or dominoes and was always up for a challenge. 

She dedicated 33 years of her career to NCH Corporation, where she served as the payroll manager.  Her commitment and expertise made her an invaluable asset to the company and she made life-long friends. Her work friends report that Chris was a very caring person to know and work with. She was always ready to listen to fellow employees’ problems, was unfailingly sympathetic and a wonderful mentor.

She was fiercely loyal to her family and often offered her home in Irving to siblings, nieces or nephews who needed a temporary place to stay. She never missed a family holiday and was always the first to recognize a loved one’s birthday or anniversary.

Chris is survived by her three siblings, her sister Cheryl Lewis and husband Bill, her sister Jenny Riddle and husband Phil, and her brother Chuck Carson and wife Terri. Additionally Chris leaves behind nieces and nephews, Lance Lewis and wife Lisa, Shannon Horner and husband Will. Luke Corrado, Samantha Scott and husband Austin, Beau Carson and Madeline Carson. She had five great nephews and nieces, Jovian Lewis, Abigail Horner, Joshua Horner, Kit Corrado and Charlie Scott.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Georgia and Bo Carson.

 “Aunt Chrissy” will forever be remembered for her love and devotion to her family. She left an indelible mark on the lives of those who had the pleasure of knowing her and her memory will be cherished.

A private memorial service will be held for immediate family members.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Humane Society of North Texas.
